Hi John,I would say ... keep your MMGs and go for 2 Rythmik servo subs. I have one in my "second" system (which has a pair of stand-mount 2-ways) and I think they're an awesome sub. As deep as you want and fast - so they'll definitely keep up with the Maggies.
I like my Rythmik so much that I'm working on SWMBO to let me have a pair with my IIIas - and if I think I need them with IIIas, you sure as hell need them with 1.6s! :-))
Get the Rythmik option which has a 24dB sub LP rolloff (this is the -6dB or half-signal point) and ask Brian to set the 12dB HP rolloff (for the MMGs) to, say, 70Hz.
