I run my MMGs with a Panasonic XR50. The XR50 (basically an older model of the XR-700) is also rated down to 6 ohms. I drive a powered subwoofer with the sub out. I've done this off and on for 3 years with no issues.
i also have a Jolida 1501RC hybrid amp I use sometimes.
