Re: What single characteristic of your Maggies do you value above all others?

Price point of the MMG's - I've had many other speakers disappear sonically (#2), present an uncolored mid-range (#3), and not sound like they are coming from a box (even though they were). But they all cost more. The MMG's out of the box did all this and with just a few EQ tweeks blended with the subs to

Origional Shahanian Obelisks ($950) 1980 (These disappeared even out of the sweet spot!)
Vandersteen 2C's $1350 (1984)
A few 1990's DIY biamp 2 way monitors ($690 - 870 for the drivers alone)
A DYI biamp, ribbon (Gold ribbon concepts) Dynaudio combo after eq and a lot of room treatment ($1500 drvrs only)

The best bargain of all for me was my (I still have them) Boston A40's $120 a pair in 1981 after my Henry Radio employee discount. They only disappeared at louder levels and after I put some internal bracing and damping on the cabinet walls.
