Re: MGIIIa tweeter help

There is an inductor parallel to the ribbon, so putting an ohmmeter across the top and bottom of the tweeter actually measures the DCR (approximate) of the inductor and gives no indication about the tweeter. You would have to unsolder one of the leads of the inductor to get an accurate read of the tweeter resistance (about 2.2 ohms).
The mid driver have should read about 3.3 ohms. To measure the mid driver the easiest procedure is to remove the mid fuse and measure from the pos. input jack to one side of the fuse holder. If the reading is zero, put the probe on the other side of the fuse holder. If both readings are zero then either the mid driver or the inductor that is in series with the driver is shot (highly unlikely that there will be a burnt out inductor).
While you are playing with the ohmmeter, quickly check your fuses for continuity. Occassionally a fuse will look intact but will actually have a break.

I may be an egoist but at least I don't talk about other people.
