I think the limiting factors are diaphragm excursion and dipole cancellation. You can probably get them to respond fairly well down to ~200Hz or so if you use 8 per channel with ~12" wings on each side (wider is better)...some gentle eq may be required near the crossover. If run series/parallel, they should be pretty efficient and be able to take very high power.
