MG1 bass, or lack thereof :)

well, got the banana plugs, saw the "r" and "l" and hooked them up...they sound real nice, but the bass response is well, kinda shaky..have moved them around in a few different locations with only minor success...bear in mind i traded a set of AR-9's for the mg1's so i know the bass response will be no way even close, the bass is great if i put my hand between the speaker and say the wall or right in front of the speaker but that's it...only other thing i noticed was that vocals seem much receeded then the ar-9's....any thoughts would be appreciated!
