Monarchy SE-250 monos

Steve, my 3.6Rs put out all the bass I must have and I'm using Monarchy hybrids to get the job done. These amps have plenty of power: 250 wpc into 8 ohms; double that into into 4. These amps are stable into 2 ohms. These amps are zero feedback hybrids, using one 6DJ8/6922/ECC88/6N1P for voltage gain and mosfets for current gain. What's not to like? Well, they are Only single ended. And they are input sensitive - you'll want a preamp with 2.5 Volt output to get the most power output. For the price, these are a really good value in upper end amplification. Then again, however, how much bass do you need? Perhaps the 3.6Rs are not your cup of tea if you need sub 30 Hz or huge SPLs. But if you like the 3.6Rs and can't actively biamp as AndyR suggests, you might look into the Monarchys. Good luck.
