OK. I wasn't very clear. Until you can be sure that the source material is 'good' why even consider the possibility that you are doing something wrong?
However there are some things that you could try. Are the over sibilant tracks overloading any part of your system? That is, do these tracks still sound over sibilant when played at a lower level? What is the source medium? CD, OR, whatever, LP? If the latter, could the cartridge be mistracking?
The over sibilance could be due to lousy miking or other dickering around during recording, remixing, mastering, etc..
