I wouldn't worry about the looks if they do the job.I assume the speakers are MG 1.6's correct? If so, the panels are now far off the floor. I wonder what impact there was to the bass. In addition, a seated listening position would now put your ears in the lower half of the tweeter. I was also thinking the wood braces in front might cause some defraction of the higher frequencies. Have you noticed any changes to the sound stage, especially depth as a result.
