I bought a pair of Quad 63s 18 years ago at my favorite dealer and I wasn't even looking for speakers! I was amp shopping. But something said that these really sound like music, itself. Still happy too, knowing their limitations, not extremely loud or dynamic or shake your pants bass, but, boy do they do fine detail and a cohesiveness of sound, probably from no crossover in the way.While you are still trying set-up, I would like to reccommend the Cardas positioning. I just tried this a few months ago and got lower, tighter bass and...just this sound that the Quad were better coupled to the room. And this you can hear down the hall in other rooms, too. Mark your current position with tape in case you want to go back.
