Finally dropped the coin on a DEQX ...

All,

I haven't been doing much with the rig lately and finally dropped the coin on a DEQX to replace the Bryston 10B Sub on the 3.6's. It is going to take a while for me to get everything zereoed in, but I can already see it's advantages. Will keep you posted. I have a steep learning curve ahead of me.

Initial impressions:
- Huge impact on sound stage. Roger Water's Amsused To Death has never sound so large, diverse and layered.
- Easy to integrate stereo subs.
- A lot of choices to figure out when configuring.
- Getting a perfect measurement and filter generation will be considerable task for me.
- Matching Hemholtz's +/- 1.5dB inroom response will be a challenge.
- PC software crashes from time to time.
- PC software caused a blue screen of death.
- Dell WiFi does not work when DEQX is hooked up via the USB interface.
- DEQX does not support non-symetrical points/slopes.
- DEQX does not support steep slopes at lower frequences.
- More processing increases timing latencies, thus faster processors could be thrown at the product to provide more functionality.
- Left and Right connectors on the back of the unit are reversed from the rest of my gear. Must be a south of the equator thing ???

Happy Holidays,
Tim
