You might try Merlin VSM's. I know two people who've gone from 3 series maggies to Merlins and are happy with them. The Merlins are much more room friendly and image much like maggies with crystal clear highs and plenty of midrange bloom and a big soundstage, deeper than Maggies. They may be a little light on bass compared to your 2.6's and a sub might be in order. YMMV.
