I used my MMG's with a Marantz 27 (30 Watts/ch) receiver with no problems at a reasonable level (mid 80's db) as long as you don't get too carried away with the bass control (particularly don't crank up the bass while the loudness button is engaged!). Actually it was a very nice warm sounding combination. It wont rock the house but the Marantz house sound from that era combines very well with the maggies
