How Loud Will A Small Magnepan Play ?

I still have my SMGA's, becasue I really like them.
I sold my MG 3A's, but kept the SMGA's.

I must admit, I like it loud sometimes, and I am in a big room too.
To make matters worse, I have friends and employees coming over, and some like Rap, and even Metal!

I fear for the little SMGA's ...

So, I was thinking, I have a RANE 24 DB electronic crossover with adjustable crossover frequency.
It uses Linkwitz Riley 24 DB slopes.

I could set it to say 80HZ,and relieve the little Maggie of potentially Mylar ripping bass.
I have an SVS Ultra subwoofer with a bridged Ashly FET 500 delivering about 1500 watts, so bass is not a problem.

I was wondering, has anyone ever tried taking the bass load away from a Maggie ?

If so, will they really scream IF fed the power ?

What can they handle, and is the bass the limiting factor, or will you overheat the wires.

In other words, what causes Magggie to blow up, and how does it die ?

I do not want to blow up my beloved SMGA's, just prevent it.
