and I'm sure the guys who work on them more than I will be chiming in soon.These panels will generally last about 15-20 years, if the set I have are any point of reference. They're about 20 years old - according to QS&D who checked my serial numbers. This will vary with the environment they lived in. Higher humidity will certainly take its toll, for instance. Not keeping the dust covers sealed or rather dusty environments will shorten their life. Consistent overdriving them will cause more arcing.
Mine did the sizzling/arcing when I received them and I knew what I was getting into at the time. I've elected to replace all the panels with new ones - not cheap!
I'd also check with QS&D; they've been quite helpful with me.
