I have no doubt that you get a great picture, but 1080p is definitely a step up from 1080i, but you have to be using source equipment that can produce 1080p of course to get the real benefit.

I don't own a flat panel right now. I have a POS flatscreen that is huge in the back with standard resolution that bugs me everytime I pop in a DVD, but I'll live.
I have a few other things that are more important to upgrade before I get to my tv, but it's pretty safe to say that I'll be getting a flat panel 1080p when I do-or possibly a 1080p projector now that the prices are comming down so much. But, as I said when I upgrade it will only be to a 1080p screen.
Sorry if I misspelled or didn't make much sense...got a bit of scotch in me ;-)
