heard a very used pair of Acoustat 2+2's. The sound was shockingly good compared to previous dynamic speakers I had owned. After the Acoustats, I have owned Quad 57's (wonderful speakers!) and now have a pair of Beveridge 3's I am refurbishing (stunning performers)ESL's clearly are not everyone's cup of tea, but for many of us, are the only way to go. As you have mentioned, you can learn a lot from this forum and the smart folks here will help you with any issues you might have with your speakers.
