I actually heard the large Wisdoms several years ago. The MRTW is planar magnetic like Maggies, but unlike Maggies it is unipolar. Has a very transparent midrange albeit the highs are slightly rolled off compared to Maggie ribbons. If you like playing large orchestral or organ works, they sound awesome. There is very good integration between planar magnetic and conventional woofer drivers, I really didn't hear a disparity. It kind of reminded me of Maggie Tympani on steroids. But it does fall slightly short of ultimate resolution and microdynamics of electrostatic or ribbon speakers. Very impractical at least for me. The dealer was originally a Soundlab dealer and switched to the Wisdoms (although he still sold SL at the time). But when the Dali Megaline came out, he switched to the Dali. But IMHO, the Wisdoms sounded better than the Megalines - I could hear the disparity between the Dali ultra refined ribbon tweeters to the mid/woofer drivers and the low freq extension wasn't as convincing as the Wisdoms.
