I'd need to know what the corresponding bass LP slope and crossover frequency is, before I can give you a sensible recommendation.If in fact this is also 6dB then I suspect you would be stuffing up a great sounding crossover between bass and ribbon, by changing the ribbon HP filter to 12 or 24dB. With an all-6dB slope setup, both drivers would be connected with the same polarity (a very good thing!) whereas you would have to invert one driver with a 12 or 24dB HP leg.
Why don'tcha simply start by going active with the same slopes and -3dB frequencies as the existing passive setup?
