Hey Jon,
I'm running a similar system: Cary 303-300 CDP into Rogue Magnum 99/M150 into Maggie 3.6r's.
The autoformers are great...and you don't need to spend $800 on them. I found mine used on A'gon for less than $300 for the basic units. I feel they make a great difference in the system...a PALPABLE difference. And the tube amps and speakers love 'em. I run mine at 4x but whatever your ears tell you. That's what I'd do first..and it's the least expensive of the options as well.
