I'd stick with Peter Gunn's recommendation of DAP. I glued the tops and bottoms of my IIIA's bass wires two years ago now with DAP and just recently rechecked them when I installed new socks. They're still tight and working fine. Just make sure you clean the old glue off completely with acetone down to the original mylar first, before you apply the DAP. The mylar has a glossy finish when it is clean.
