set-up tips

Thanks for all of the advice guys.

The pre amp is a pretty rare SLP 100, and I do have an older Cary 300B PP stereo amp in house as well as a Fourier Triomphe I can try. Since winter is coming, I might as well pull out the room-heater OTL.

I have been getting pretty good results by pulling the speakers closer together and aiming the back wave through a large doorway into my entry-way. I will experiment with an absorbent center barrier (see Ambiophonics) this weekend and see if this helps. I am sure that more side wall treatment would be a good thing as well.
