You can find the bass by moving the speakers forwards and backwards. As for the image it is a little harder with the big Acoustat's. I always found that with the multiple panel Acoustats that I obtained the best image by using the inner panels of each speaker aimed so the centre of that panel fired at the listeners shoulders. You might also try moving the speakers closer to the side walls as the speakers have a dipole radiation patern moving them closer to the side walls will boost bass without messing with image too much. That said I never heard a set of 6's that could not make bass. Have fun regards Moray James.
