is it really that much problem to send the tweeters off?
I've done it myself (to the Oz distributor, who does "factory" repairs) and if your buy some plastic plumbing tube to put them in, with endcaps, it's no big deal!!
My IIIAs are 18 or 19 years old and they are in perfect working order ... ie. no issues in terms of ageing.
