Hi Mourip,TV Man is correct with his answer.
I have not tried battery power but some others have and reported that they preferred the MR power supply. One person had good results using an 18V battery feeding the input to the regulator on the MR power supply but again, I have not had the chance to try this yet.
Please give us your feedback if you do try some experiments with batteries.
