Now one thing that I have stated all along is that USB->SPDIF conversion is much better than any transport due to the 2 facts:1) The data is already error free on the drive and most transports to no do error correction.
2) The SPDIF freq is set and is not a moving target like a transport is. Most transports that I have tested actually vary the frequency about 7-8% centered on 44.1K. Most receivers and secondary PLL's have to adjust to that change. USB-SPDIF is usually rock on 44.1KHz.
