I am building a headphone preamp using 6N6P tubes and a LL1689AM line output transformer. There is bound to be a difference in current flowing through each 6N6P, (as the halves are not matched). I could use a small preset resistor in the cathodes in order to try to reduce the different current. My question is how neurotic do I need to be?? What sort of difference in current is acceptable and by inference what is NOT acceptable.
