RE: Line-Out Transformer Recommendations

Sure!

Since each plate is operating at about 5.1k Ohms, their combined impedance should be twice that (10.2k).

The cathode return resistor should have no impact on the impedance because the tubes are in differential mode. When one tube is swinging up, the other tube is swinging down. The cathodes are tied together and should operate at a constant voltage with no degeneration. At least, that is my understanding.

I'm assuming I need a push-pull transformer type, even though its not "technically" a push-pull circuit. I've heard that these tubes like a heavy load to sound at their best. If I were designing this as single-ended I would want the primary to have at least 125 L to load the 5k plate.

I'm not sure how the specification works when there are 2 tubes involved and B+ is coming from the center-tap of the primary. I'm guessing that its primary would need to be at least 250 L.
