preamp w/1674 output transformer

hello: my tubeo preamp uses the 1674 output transformer preceded by a 1 uf capacitor. i was wondering, for the purpose of using a much better coupling cap i have on hand with a smaller value, if i can connect a resistor to ground inmediately prior to the transformer with a calculated value so not to affect bass performance. thanks.
