Hmm, as said, you can simply set the jumper for 100R I/V ans see if you like the results. ir will not damage anything...

One version of my "Toccata" used a 12B4 "linestage" into TVC, derived from the original Arthur Loesch design with JFet/417A cascode into LCR RIAA into 6GK5 and the the linestage.
I went from that straight to dropping the linestage...
But such things much depend on taste and system context.
