RE: django history

>>What were the years that Django tvc preamps were produced, with the S&B tx-102 transformers ?

Without looking through the archives: through about 2006
But... there were 3 versions. Mk1 (sounded good, measured bad), Mk2 (measured good sound so-so), Mk3 (measured and sounded good)

>>When did they stop production with those ..
As above

>>How many do we think may be out there (w/ S&B)..?
more than a 100, less than a 1000. Would need to count but no time for that.

>>Any tips on where to look for used Django/Tx102 units ?

no. My only tip is to buy something else. We stopped selling them (because of delivery and other issues) when we found the Silk which are just as good (better to some ears). Later S&B cut the supply to builders to keep them exclusive for their own brand. The inflated selling price they go for is strictly supply driven and nothing to do with quality.

There are a few suppliers of other AVC/TVC worthy of consideration AND obtainable.

>>Does hifisupply ever get trades with the s&b trannies for resale ?

Not really. Some get tired of them and once in a while swap but we don't take trades.

regards
Brian
