Re: Tube rolling on a WE91 LD2+

I've just had a play with some rectifiers. (I used Sylvania 310A)

VA274B
B+ on 300B 410V, heater on 274B 5.0V
Could be described as the least smooth or when listening to brass perhaps it's the most realistic. Just depends on your point of view, sounds fine.

National 5U4GB
393V, 5.0V
More bass "rumble" than the VA, maybe a trace smoother on the mid.

Mazda GZ34
427V, 5.1V
Slighly deeper and tigher bass than the National, the smoothest and yet most defined sound of the the three, not more detailed but instruments are clearer.

The differing voltages will impact the sound so all the differences are just down to the rectifier. The sonic differences are not huge but they are quite easy to hear. The GZ34 seems to have the best balance but I want to listen some more.
