I will readily agree that the driver stage differences (and output tube differences) are smaller than those between two different sets of speakers, but they are there. And I suspect the become subjectively "larger" with longer exposure.

It may not be known to you that the Mu-Follower Driver stage for the Billie/LDP Kit was my suggestion, as where the gridchokes (in fact I got Jonathan Billington to make me the first pair, they are still around), as where in fact the S&B TX-102 attenuator transformers in the Django's and a few other things.

So I am quite familiar with the sort of stuff and in fact my system context is not wildly different either from what you got (probably a bit more resolving though).
