Where's Oscar?; Best Picture for Vinylphiles is "Little Voice"!

I just saw the movie "Little Voice" and it is a treat for vinyl record fans. I think we can all identify a bit with the heroine's affection for her vinyl albums. It's even better than the scene in "Saving Private Ryan" when the soldiers play an Edith Piaf record during a lull between the battles. Thumbs up from me!

that one where...that guy...the chemist...you know, Alkatraz, chemical weapons??? anyway he gets a Beatles LP delivered to his office and when asked says, "These sound better." That's the only part of the movie I remember. Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption, 'cmon, help me...

"The Rock" I also loike the VPI in "Indecent Proposal". BTW "Pulp Fiction" used a reel to reel deck rather than vinyl

yea Nick Cage, and it can't be pulp fiction, I can see it in my mind...I see this cartrige close-up moving slowly towards the black groove...Oh no, that's an old Spinners LP cover I'm thinking of. That's it, I have the Spinners LP sitting on top of the Pulp Fiction LP... nevermind.

Speaking of covers, one of my favorite recordings: the Nightfly. how 'bout THAT tonearm! Anyone recognise the axe man on the LP Donald Fagen is about to play? That's a nice recording too!

You know, I'm really going to miss the cover art. It won't be long before it's gone forever. CD/dvd is just too small to bother with doing something interesting.

Think about super LP covers: Sticky Fingers, their satanic majesties Request, Sgt. Peppers, Santana, (I never liked the "old classical real art typically on classical LP's, unless there's nekid ladies) Time Out is cool.

Anyone seen a good CD cover?

In my IKEA frames I have Somethin' Else, The Sidewinder, Time Out, and Sarah Vaughn After Hours at the London House. I have seen some good art on CD's but none that wouldn't look better on LP's

it doesn't harm the cover, right? That's a nice collection nt, posted on March 25, 1999 at 06:10:17

Only two are in NM condition anyway, the others are kind of shoddy, but to my friends that makes em seem like rare oldies that are worth a fortune : )
