Under $500 with MM Grado cartridges as preference....Matched with VPI HW 19 TURNTABLE. Thanks.....(Yes the stuff goes way back but the GRADO arm is unique)

Here's a second vote with 'Chuck' on the Grado phono pre (PH-1). Wonderfully musical sound, quiet. Trouble is ...- long discontinued. IF you can find one, better if it's a later production unit which dumped the wall-wart power supply for a vastly more substantial "regulated computer grade" power pack. However consider getting one of any vintage. Alternatively, check out Soundsmith's pre ...- could well be a harmonious match as their carts, like Grado, are also MI.

Under 300.00 Bellari VP-130
Under 100.00 Art DJ II (the 100 includes an upgraded regulated power supply which is essential IMO).

The Grado phono preamp, complete with wood case that matches the tonearm and the Grado woodies! Switchable settings for both the high output and low output Grado carts, both at Grado's preferred 47K ohms. I still have one, although I haven't used it in years.

Thank you. Sort of gave because it was out production for more than a decade. Will have to start looking....Grado was a nice man too.!

The phono pre amp has nothing to do with the tone arm, but with the cartridge, associated equipment and preference of sound. Let us know more about that, and someone can make a much better suggestion.

PS Audio is having 33% off now. The Stellar Phono stage for $1650 is an absolute steal for what it is and offers. I have used one.
