I need a brand new or at least 'as new' dust cover for my newly acquired Ariston RD-11 turntable. Are there any sources?

Years ago I acquired an RD-11 with a broken cover. Took it to a local advertising specialties design-build firm. they reproduced it and installed the hinges for $90 at a time when these Audiogon "custom" one size fits all covers were just getting started at $150.

Let your fingers do the walking.

Maker your own! A few years back I worked with my local retail plastic shop ("TAP" Plastics in Bellevue WA- good folks) and built a custom dustcover for a vintage Pioneer TT. I had the shop cut and bend the top, front, and back as a single piece of smoked, 1/8" acrylic. They gave me a strip the exact depth for the sides, which I then hand-cut to fit the curved inside dimensions of the top. Glued those in with some of their welding cement and it came out pretty good! I drilled holes for the hinges with an ordinary twist drill bit at slow speed. (I did make one smear of the cement and its very hard to remove.) It took a few hours and a few trips to the shop but cost around $40 total.

There's a fellow in LA who makes custom dustcovers, apparently as a side-business from his professional job as a museum display-case maker. He prefers to work from an existing (damaged) dustcover and replicate it. I found his recurring ads on Craigslist "Electronics" by searching for "turntable". His covers look real good in the photos and seem to run $120 & up. Maybe you can find someone along those lines locally.

had one made to order for under $100. Used chrome cabinet handles on it.

Check to see if an LP12 dust cover would do the trick. If it does, maybe you can find one used.

OK, will do. The seller also suggests that a Linn dust cover may fit.

There is a company on ebay that builds new dust covers for various models. I got one for my td-150 and it was excellent. Sorry cant remember the name right now but type turntable dust covers in the electronics section...
