Looking for a power transformer for this unit....original if possible or possibility another unit for parts....any help greatly appreciated....If I have no other choice I will try to use another transformer and modify the amp in order to get it to work but that will be a very daunting task for me so I would rather get an original or at least some sort on a drop in replacement if possible....

Hammond P-T272FX: 600V is pretty close electrically, might need a small 5V in addition to it.

Thank you for your reply...the original transformer has two 6.3VCT secondaries for tube heaters......so a filament transformer would have to supply at least 6A...the 600V winding is rated for .016A which apparently is too low...I have posted in a couple other repair forums so I will see what happens....will check out that Hammond transformer.....thanks....

As to you having difficulty navigating, it certainly has nothing to do with you being a slow learner. The Asylum format does take some getting used to.

This may just be my personal preference, but I've found over the years that navigating the various Asylums and individual posts feels more logical to me when using the 'Classic' view, which can be switched to as indicated by the arrow below.

There's a guy over at Audio Karma rewinding his McIntosh power transformer at the moment. I realize that might not be something you're interested in doing, but it's possible one of the transformer companies like Heyboer might take this on.
