I recently purchased an old Audio Innovations step up transformer unit, which seems to have an issue with the toggle switches that allow you to use different impedance settings by using the transformer primary windings in series or parallel. Initially there was no sound from one channel in the "Low" setting, and after flipping the switch a lot, it now works but only intermittently.

Is there any way to clean the contacts on toggle switches like this, or is the only option replacing the switches?

You're dealing with such tiny signal levels, I wouldn't trust the switches once this happens. Digikey and Mouser probably have suitable replacements. Gold plated contacts would be the way to go, but I don't know if toggles are available with that option.

I'm sure there woulds be something suitable with silver contacts if gold isn't available

Mouser sells the E-Switch line which have Gold contacts.

I use this one: 612-100-A2472

This one is not the one you need (it's PC mount), but they will have one you could use.

Those kinds of switches are nothing but trouble. figure out what setting you need and hard wire it, bypassing those switches entirely. Then you won't constantly be reaching for the deoxit.

these switches could work -
all depends upon your eyesight and a light touch with the soldering iron...
