The rarest of rare things around here--a quality piece on CL. He wants $450, but I think he'll take $400. Mate with McIntosh C27 pre, MR-77 tuner, and MC 122 amp.
Condition looks 8/10. What do you think?

Spendor made some good stuff in the day. How it held up is anyone's guess??? Vintage speakers are a crap shoot.

BTW I'm not familiar with the MC122. I know of it but never heard any of Mac's non-autoformer amps. I always wanted to but never got around to it.

I was going to describe it, but this link does a better job. I got it used at a good price for another purpose, but it's a visual match to the other components.

It sounds like a good combo since the amp doesn't use autoformers and has a high damping factor. The Spendor BC1 was a great speaker in its day with an excellent mid range. Its biggest weakness was its loose bass since it was designed before Thiel/Small gave designers much better control of reflex bass and it a high damping factor will give better bass control.
