Hello inmates,

has anyone here ever heard of a Linn Klout amp? I have heard of Linn audio before, they make their gear in the UK I think..A friend of mine has this amp, mid-late 90's I am guessing, and the left channel wont pass the protection mode circuit. I told him I could have a look at it. It's solid state, all PCB. I can't find a schematic on it..

It seems like you have to send them back across the pond or to designated service outlets, so not much info out there on these...

anyone know where I can get a schematic? any help appreciated...

J

When an amp goes into protection, that usually a indicates a shorted output transistor or two and protection interrupts the B+ rail from feeding the shorted components, causing further damage. It could also be a shorted driver transistor and even a shorted cap can cause that.It obviously has isolated power supply rails and that's why you have one working channel.

You are unlikely to find a set of schematics .. Linn is tight with their information. Anything is possible .. Try the DIY audio site. There may be someone their that can better direct you.
