 hello again
I have a 5 disc cd changer that I enjoy playing 5 discs, in a "spriral mode" which goes from disc to disc from track 1 to the last track.
The discs are not"normalized"so the volume goes up and down from disc to disc.
Sometimes too oud sometimes to low, is there a device i could put on the output of the cd player to n"normalize" the volume?
Being of the "tweaker" virtue I would like to build if possible, but a ready made device would be fine also.

 A straightforward, easy to operate, and affordable option is a device such as the Rolls SL33b Stereo Program Limiter.

The compact component features simple controls and RCA jacks for consumer audio gear.

 any good - no. It's a 'limiter' not a leveler. Big difference, and this does not have any pedigree that's close to professional quality.

 You are simply incorrect, Story. The product provides leveling that the OP seeks for use with a 5 disc CD changer, not a high-end digital front end. As for "pedigree", the OP seeks a consumer audio solution, not recording studio equipment. If you require pro audio gravitas, Markertek sells the same device. If the OP wishes to improve the sound quality of the device, the stock switch mode wall wart can be upgraded with a high-performance regulated linear power supply unit.

 there's a company called Aphex that makes studio quality equipment and may have what you're looking for. Look for anything that gives what is called leveling or ask them. It will automatically sense the input level and lower the output to an adjustable one if they still make it. There may also be other companies that have something like this, but I'm unaware.
