I just noticed that my iPhone has a built in Compass that I can utilies to see if my speakers are toed in the same amount.

A Level (swipe the compass), which allows me to determine if my speaker faces are tilted the same amount (if desired).

And a bubble like display to tell me if a top surface is tilting in one direction or another.

Not sure of the accuracy level of the output. Display is in whole units, not fractions.

Are there other neat little features maybe with apps that this machine can do to help setup or tweak an audio system?

I do use mine as basic SPL meter and RTA. But you cannot expect much linearity of the integrated microphone, I'm afraid. So it's more a basic help than a real tool. Depends of the purpose, really!

Car Tools is a very nice free app from Audiocontrol with RTA and signal generator.
I have also used some of the seismic apps. to measure motorgenerated vibrations in my turntable.
Now I am looking for a free impedance measure app (like LIMP). Any ideas?

spell checkers are nice apps too....utilies ????? (nt), posted on February 17, 2017 at 04:25:08

I would have thought that the circuitry was designed to compensate for the shortcomings of the microphone. No?

very inaccurate. There are much better ways to set up the system.

A good app for checking turntable speed.
