Hi. I was starting to modify/upgrade an FM3 when I had to move. After several months of settling in to the new place I started unpacking the electronic stuff. I found all the upgrade pieces for the FM3 except the four diodes (D71-D74). FM3Zone has not responded to my messages so I am trying to find them elsewhere.
Does anyone have these diodes or at least the specs so I can order them from Digi-Key? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dan Bal

I hope you find some but did you look under the flaps at the bottom of the box?

Don't know what diodes were spec'd in the FM3Zone kit. I've successfully used 1N5711 in that app. 1N5711 is a 70V / 15mA Schottky device so forward drop is on order of 0.4 V or thereabouts and similar to germanium in that regard. They're in a leaded DO41 pkg so should drop in w/o mods. You could also try 1N34A. This is an old style germanium part that is no longer current but shows up occasionally at the usual antique radio parts sources like AES.

Steve O, thanks so much for the info. I have just ordered 10ea from Digi-Key.
It is the last thing left to do.

Second the 1N5711's - has about the lowest forward voltage from silicon and is much more rugged

I got my PEC and Power Supply Kits from them. really nice. I don't know if they are still around, won't hurt to check. The PEC PCB kit raise the sonics on my FM-3. Then I did the other upgrades on the Audio Output section.
