Realized this morning i just have not used my tuner in quite a while. Anyone have any idea what a Mark III stereo version in very good cosmetic condition is worth. This one was restored a few years ago by one of the fm gurus.....

 Even if it was not working, I think it has value as a nostalgic piece from a bygone era.

Copper chassis? That is something.

 I might make an offer. It is quite attractive, and I still listen to my local NPR station quite a bit.

Please include in your ad copy the details of the recent refurbishment, as I think it adds a lot of value to know it is a working unit and will not require a lot of effort to use it.

 At request of the last reply please note the unit was restored and aligned by the well respected RadioX tuners. Has minimal hours since and is totally plug and play

 Unfortunately they only sell for about $100. The condition will help, but there isn't much of a market. You can use ebay, and select completed items and it will show with prices in green which sold and for how much. The last one I bought, which was about 15 years ago, was also for about $100.

As for quality Fm stations in my area. Well that's another story lol

 Sadly a good tube tuner is only worth having if :-

It's been restored and aligned,

You have some good FM stations doing minimal processing,

Doing music you care about

and, you have a directional antenna with enough gain to get the tuner into full limiting on all your desired stations.

In fact, all of this is true of any tuner, but a tubed tuner will need a good bit more gain from a directional antenna.

Leaving aside tube/valve sound, such tuner's RF front-ends are far more resistant to overload from strong out-of-band RF signals than almost any SS tuner.

Heres a front pic for #$@%#$ and giggles.....cosmetics are pretty good for the era and sherwood's in general as the ivory tends to grey out or get yellow...

 Those were wonderful units .... I lusted after one in graduate school but settled for an Eico. It's amazing that it is so "white". As you say, most of them are dull or yellow by now. Did your upgrader do something to the fascia?
