You still need quality blades to get a good shave.

I finally stopped buying Sovteks, JJ's and EH 6922 tubes.

I have a second set of Gold Lion 6922's to be delivered tomorrow for my preamp.

I wonder if power amplifier driver tubes make much of a difference? Mine uses a pair of 12AU7.

This is why I don't put 6922s into the gear I build. It's easy to do without if you're designing from scratch. 12AU7s are not very linear in grounded cathode service. I only use them for cathodyne phase inverters or cathode followers.

If you are 'stuck' with a 12AU7 as a preamp tube, use Brimar 13D5 long plate or CBS/Hytron 5814.
