What is JEP Amperex?

Guys, got a few Amperex tubes, and there is JEP written on the tube. Does anybody know what it stands for? The box is formerly white with just a tube number and JEP printed on it. I'm assuming it's an earlier version of JAN.

I Bing'ed it (try Bing instead of the usual) and came up with Western Electric

I've been using Bing lately with no complaints here
