I was concerned these would be too big to fit; no problem; these are physically a much larger tube than the Golden Lion KT-77's they replace
Amp is wired in triode and using the same bias points as the KT-77's
Early days yet, but the sound is very clear at the top end and midrange is wonderful, a slight compromise with Bass response compared to the KT-77's but maybe after some more burn-in that will improve

how much voltage have you biased on them.

Please report how the sound builds up.

These are one of the options when my TungSol KT66's wear out.

Snafu; very pleased with these, they came with a spec. sheet which suggest Ia : 39mA

nice build quality with a ceramic base wrapped in metal

I've owned the same Amp for over 20 years and tried a variety of tubes and if I had to

replace the current quad it would be with WE6CA7's

Thank You Graham.

I have had my power amps (Nelson Audio Image M9) over fifteen years and imo current production EL34 variants are pretty good compared to "at the time" production tubes.

Looks like this is my next power amp tube. Only down side is i need eight of them.... €€€

With my power amps SQ improved a lot with 12AU7 -> Shuguang 6N8P "globe" and EF86 -> Philips E80F

Yet another tube with a WE designation that Western Electric never made.

But if WE HAD produced a 6CA7 it would be exactly like these......(nt), posted on January 11, 2020 at 12:04:24

Do you think the engineers at Shuguang have the chops of the WE engineers?

Great looking tubes. I am glad the sound is great also.
I want to try them on my 8B. Where did you purchase them from?

Keep us posted on your experience with these tubes. I will need to replace my Golden Lion kt77 this year.

Only about a weeks use on these: they sounded great right out of the box but now the Bass has settled down and I am very ( very ) pleased with these
I have owned the Marantz 8B over 20 years now; it's a reissue, one of the ones that VAC made and uses Dutch Philips E-90F's as a 6BH6 and vintage Grey-plate Hitachi 6CG7's; I have used Ei Fat bottles, and a variety of new manufacture and NOS over the years and the best tubes I've had have been the Golden Lion KT-77's up until now but the Shuguang "If-only-WE-had-made-'ems" are sounding the best I've heard

I am also concerned about its size. Can you send me their dimensions if not too much of trouble. Thanks.
