Real or Snake Oil??

I have some nos in box euro globe 45's with poisoned filaments. I wish I could find somebody I could trust enough to rejuvenate those. I plan to build an amp and try bake them for a day then run them in the amp in the hope they will come good.It does my head in that such tubes with new filaments cant work. Perhaps a current source on the filament might up the voltage until the filament resistance reduces.

The CRT process raises the filament voltage in steps for about 10-12 minutes to burn off unwanted residue on the cathode. I am not sure how to perform the same on an open filament type tube. The CRT raises the 6.3 volts in steps to about a peak of 10 volts for 5 minutes.

You could try one 45 tube & slowly raise the filament voltage to 4-4.5 volts for 5 minutes & retest the tube at standard filament operating voltage. Do not test the tube at higher than specified filament voltage.

Neff	Snake oil. Person is desperate to turn a buck. 300B does not have an oxide filament, plus is a power tube!

Where the guy got the idea that it could be used to restore precious triodes and the like, are prolly just fantasy. If such a device existed don't ya think someone would have started a business by now and that thing looks pretty old. I mean cryogenics is popular enough imagine how well this business would do?
