RE134 Linestage. It's awesome.

Beautiful! I think I'd prefer some more retro looking knobs on front to match the look FWIW.

I think folks often overlook the importance of a linestage. It has a huge effect on the overall system balance and has to have good synergy with the amp you like. It took me years to settle on a 4P1L transformer coupled preamp but it is now the backbone of my system.

Thanks. I was going to use the same knobs on my amp but they were out of stock. Maybe down the road but I didn't want to wait and wasn't sure how long restocking would take with Covid. I actually like the look of the knobs on the preamp in hindsight.

Gang,

By far the most enjoyable tube I ever worked with is the RE134. I have used it in amps and in preamps both always sounded great.

Have about a dozen left of those tubes, probably do something cool soon.

Maybe a headphone amp!

Thanks,
Gordon

I am very very happy with the results. I have had a lot of linestages. This amp and preamp are here to stay. BTW, is the Valvo L413 a direct replacement or is it a slightly different tube? I have one.

With your three stage power amp and your efficient speakers I wouldn't think you need a line stage.

Probably don't "need" it but I prefer it.
