No, the 6AV6, a seven pin miniature, has two diodes, that must be grounded. The 6AV6 has a round plate and grid structure. This symmetry of construction should be an advantage. No one "I" know of, has A-Bed these two tubes yet. If someone has, speak up !!
I have designed a 6AV6 DCed to the grid of a Type 46, DH amp, coming up soon !!

I built a small bargain-basement 6AQ5 SE integrated amplifier, using a pair of RCA 6AV6s as driver tubes. Sounds pretty decent to me despite the little AES OPTs used.

The triode section of 6AV6 is functionally equivalent to each triode in 12AX7. Obviously pkg is different. Diodes will usually be grounded. Practically speaking, sound will be mostly a function of surrounding circuitry AND of personal expectations. Microphonics may also be an issue compared to a good 12AX7.

The 6AV6 is known for being microphonic. Plus, it doesn't have the hum-reducing filament structure available in the 'AX7. Might be OK in a guitar amp, but even then, only if cost is critical. I wouldn't use it for hi-fi.
